The predicate of the sentence is the part of it that modifies or gives information about the subject, so it must include a verb and it could also include some modifier. A simple predicate has only a verb or verb phrase; a compound predicate includes two or more verbs; a complete predicate includes not only a verb but also other modifiers that give more information.

Taking all this into consideration, tipped his hat politely is the complete predicate of the sentence.

I think it might be tipped his hat politely because a predicate is the part of a sentence or clause containing a verb and stating something about the subject.

Can you write a an essay for a future 6th grader and tell them
andriy [413]

Answer:

2 paragraphs/ 5 sentences.

Its been awhile since I've been in 6th grade myself! Be sure to check if this sounds like how you would write. You can edit what you need to, It's finished but I could be off on some things.

Explanation:

Greetings, I would like to welcome you to the sixth grade. I've enjoyed my time as a sixth grader and I would like to share some of my experiences with you. I learned a lot this year, I recommend you take notes and pay attention often- so you can be better prepared for class. You should also get you're homework in on time. You don't want to get behind in class on work.

There are plenty of good memories I made in this grade. I met some of my closest friends while I was in this class. The projects our teacher also let us do were fun. Being here made it easier for me to prepare for Seventh grade. I hope you have fun this year too.

Identify three examples of irony and explain why they are ironic.
romanna [79]
1. Irony can best be defined as that middle ground between what is said and what is meant, or others’ understanding of what was said and what was meant. It can sometimes be a bit confusing, yet at the same time it can also be amusing. There are several examples of irony which can be summed up in various categories.

2. This type of irony may occur when the outcome of a certain situation is completely different than what was initially expected. It is often referred to as an “irony of events.”

Examples of irony in the situational category include a contradiction or sharp contrast.

Example: A person who claims to be a vegan and avoids meat but will eat a slice of pepperoni pizza because they are hungry. It may not make sense, but it is an illustration of irony.Example: A man who is a traffic cop gets his license suspended for unpaid parking tickets.Example: An ambulance driver goes to a nightime bike accident scene and runs over the accident victim because the victim has crawled to the center of the road with their bike.

3. This type of irony can be attributed to some sort of misfortune. Usually cosmic irony is the end result of fate or chance.Example: Gambling. If you are playing blackjack chances are you will be up (making money) for awhile, and then just when you thought things were going well, you lose it all.Example: The Titanic was promoted as being 100% unsinkable; but, in 1912 the ship sank on its maiden voyage.Example: At a ceremony celebrating the rehabilitation of seals after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska, at an average cost of $80,000 per seal, two seals were released back into the wild only to be eaten within a minute by a killer whale.

Cosmic irony feeds on the notion that people cannot see the effects of their actions, and sometimes the outcome of a person’s actions may be out of their control.

Definition between "what about you" vs "what's about you"?
amid [387]
What about you is a response to a question that asked for a responds from you, turning the question around to the other person to answer it as well. and what’s about you is a weird term but “what is about you” would most likely be similar to “tell me about yourself. yeah?

The use of the imagery best describes the looming danger ahead while rafting through a river. The weather is quickly changing and the environment is agreeing to such event. The omens that can be seen within the environment are warning signs that the character should find a safe place where he can land and situate himself out of the rapids of the river.
