What does the moon symbolize in the poem?

English
2 answers:
lord [1]3 years ago

Answer: B - soothing feelings.

Explanation: The poem is an excerpt from Dover Beach by William Arnold. The poem mentions the moon in the beginning when it's talking about a calm sea. The only other time the moon is mentioned is "the moon-bleached sand" which a sad, roaring sea beats against. This suggests that the moon symbolizes calm or soothing feelings and when the moon isn't there, the opposite feelings come.

This answer is right on Edmentum.

(15points)In what way does Whitman convey the attitude of the “New American” in his poem “I hear America singing”?
ohaa [14]

Answer:

Ferlinghetti believes the new America that is ruled by corporations is not the true America. Instead, he ironically speaks of a "new Empire" that is "vaster" but not greater than past empires. Ferlinghetti suggests that the new American empire has technological ("electronic highways") and economic ("corporate") power. But it does not have a culture of any worth or value ("carrying its corporate monoculture/ around the world"). As a result, American society is lost. This is why Ferlinghetti asks the Sybil to "save" the American people:

And tell us how to save us from ourselves and how to survive our own rulers who would make a plutocracy of our democracy

He also asks the Sybil to awaken Americans by speaking in a "poet's voice" and asks her to reinvigorate America's culture:

the voice of the people mixedwith a wild soft laughter—And give us new dreams to dream, Give us new myths to live by!

Part A
Svetlanka [38]

In Part A, the presence of the simile is comparing the daffodils to the stars by using a comparison through the comparison word "as". The characteristic that the author is comparing is continuous. Something continuous never ends; therefore, the correct answer is that the simile describes the endless rows of daffodils.

In Part B, the mood that the author creates through the use of the simile mentioned in Part A is C: energetic. In the sample sentence, the word twinkle implies movement, and this movement indicates that being energetic is one of the characteristics of the daffodils.

What is the benefit of having a fixed interest rate loan?
Svetach [21]

Answer:

I think the answer is A. Your interest rate changes annually, therefore, you may be able to get a lower rate.

Explanation:

The main advantage of a fixed-rate loan is that the borrower is protected from sudden and potentially significant increases in monthly mortgage payments if interest rates rise. Fixed-rate mortgages are easy to understand and vary little from lender to lender.

I hope this helps u! :D
