ons, each including a number of examples of music that you can listen to. These examples often use different instruments than we are used to hearing today. What are some of the instruments you hear? How is the sound of the music different than what we might hear today? PLEASE HELP !!
1. Harpsichord (piano and harp had a baby) 2. Viol (six stringed cello) 3. Lute (looks like a guitar) The Baroque era is known to have exaggerated and intense musical characteristics. Composers used tone to create dramatic and grand sounds. As oppose to this, modern music is prone to sound more easy going and almost low key. The reason being is that the baroque era used music as a form of entertainment with people paying to view orchestras that were hours long, while the modern music is used more as background noise.
