Not sure what your question is asking ,but yes use pencil to sketch first before you start on with drawings . Normally I like to use HB pencil 2B or 3B for softer or blacker sketches and 6B or 9B for a deeper tone .

Answer and Explanation:

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking but, to start drawing I like to start with a circle and go from there. I do it with everything I draw (bc I mainly draw anime stuff). But If you're drawing a protrait of someone you have to be really skilled bc it's difficult. I find it best to draw someone at an angle..
