Solve, using linear combination. <br> 5x + y = 2 <br> 4x + y = 4
Jet001 [13]
5x+y=2
4x+y=4

5x+y=2
-1( 4x+y=2)

5x+y=2
-4x-y=2

your y'all cancel out so you r left with

x=-2
then you plug the x in to one of the equations
5(-2)+y=2
-10+y=2
then add 10 to both sides
y=12

Answer: x = -2 y = 12

there's the work and all its simple you just have to figure out how to get rid of y or x ( which ever is easier) and you can figure it out after that

Find the inverse Laplace transform, f(t), of the function:<br><br> F(s) = 7/s^2 + 5s + 24
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

y(t)=\frac{14}{\sqrt{71}}e^{-\frac{5}{2}t}sin\frac{\sqrt{71}}{2}t

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that a function

F(s)=\frac{7}{s^2+5s+24}

We have to find the inverse transform of the function

F(s)=\frac{7}{s^2+2\cdot \frac{5}{2}s+\frac{25}{4}-\frac{25}{4}+24}

F(s)=\frac{7}{(s+\frac{5}{2})^2+(\frac{\sqrt{71}}{2})^2}

We know that laplace transform of sinhat

L(sinat)=\frac{a}{s^2+a^2}

L(e^{at}sinbt)=\frac{b}{(s-a)^2+b^2}

Using this formula we get

y(t)=\frac{7}{\frac{\sqrt{71}}{2}}\times e^{-\frac{5}{2}t}sin\frac{\sqrt{71}}{2}t

y(t)=\frac{14}{\sqrt{71}}e^{-\frac{5}{2}t}sin\frac{\sqrt{71}}{2}t

What is the distance between (–6, 2) and (8, 10) on a coordinate grid?
bazaltina [42]
Distance Formula: d = √(x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)²

(-6 , 2) and (8 , 10)
 x₁   y₁         x₂    y₂

d = √(8 - (-6))² + (10 - 2)²
d = √(8+6)² + (10 - 2)²
d = √(14)² + (8)²
d = √(196) + (64)
d = √ 260
d = 2√65

I think this is right, but I am not sure.
