Most children at the age of 11 had always thought that their friends would stick close to them forever, whilst I on the other hand knew the dreaded truth of losing a friend. When transferring to middle school I presumed that my child hood friends from elementary would come with me, though it was only then I knew they would not. I had thankfully been in contact with them, and we regularly talked every now and then after school. Although, soon enough we lost contact with each other. Day by day we would call less, saying that we had school work or after school activities, until we didn’t contact at all. I have tried calling to see how my friend is, although despite trying to reconnect, I only then realized that they wouldn’t pick up the phone or contact back. “When losing something, one also gains something”, so by losing my long time friend, I had gained new friends. Currently, I am in (whatever school like middle school/high school) and I have new friends which I could count on. I just hope that we stick together, because to me, friendships count.

The president of the company was attending the mandatory sales meeting. Which type of phrase or clause is underlined in the sent
denis-greek [22]

I looked this question up and found out that the underlined phrase should be "was attending". The answer choices for this question are the following:

A. noun clause

B. verb phrase

C. adjectival phrase

D. adverbial clause

Answer:

The underlined phrase is a:

B. verb phrase

Explanation:

A verb phrase consists of a main verb or of a main verb and the auxiliary or modal verbs that accompany it. Take a look at the examples below:

- Joshua sang beautifully last night. --> verb phrase is "sang"

- Eileen has gone to Ireland. --> verb phrase is "has gone"

Thus, we can easily see that "was attending" is also a verb phrase. The main verb is "attending" and the auxiliary is "was".

Giselle has $40 to spend on parking this month. Parking costs her $2.50 each day. After Giselle parks for 9 days
erastova [34]

Answer: Giselle has spent more than 1/2 of her parking money.

Explanation:

She has $40 dollars and parking lot cost $2.50 and she pays $2.50  for 9 days.

you need to multiply 2.50 * 9 and equals 22.5

now you need to subtract $40 - $22.5 and equals $17.5

now we need to know what is 1/2 of 40 and is 20 since $17.5 is less  than $20 Giselle has spent more than 1/2 of her parking money.

Which type of decision maker tends to choose the first available option in haste?
faltersainse [42]

The gut instinct follower is arguably the simplest decision maker and tends to choose the first option in haste.

When confronted with two possibilities and a handful of information on each, the instinct follower will generally form an immediate impression, and side with wherever that impression lands.

And mostly that is the correct decision but sometimes you just make the decision too quickly and waste it by choosing the very first option on the list.
