Answer:

1A, 2B, 3A, 4D, 5 "As still more Confederates joined in the battle, they forced the Union soldiers back to the edge of the bluff. Some fell or jumped to their deaths while many stumbled down the deep slope." The eighth paragraph is evidence too.

Explanation:

The first clue that shows a "terrible defeat" is the heading that reads, "A terrible mistake." Another way to tell is to understand the text is painting an awful way to die for many Union soldiers caught off guard by the many Confederate soldiers.

I believe the correct answer would be <span>3.) They fought each other over philosophical differences but also teamed up to fight outside invaders, after which their differences caused friction that pushed them apart once again.
</span>
While 2 would make sense because of the origins of the Communist party within the Nationalist party, but they never began as allies. 1 would be false because the Communist party formally began around 1929. 4 would be false because they did not coexist peacefully prior to 1960.

Hope I could help!

Feudal lords granted charters to guilds, allowing them to regulate trade. What did guilds do for their lords in return?
Anna11 [10]
I think that it depends on period and place. But I think you should choose between "<span>The guilds paid taxes, as well as a percentage of their trade profits, to their lords. </span>", "<span>The guilds paid taxes, helped raise armies, and provided other services for their lords.</span>" I hope it will help.
