Answer:

D. It explains the philosophy that supports separation from Great Britain.

Explanation:

This passage explains the basic philosophy that the Founding Fathers believed in. These ideas are a consequence of the Enlightenment movement that gained traction in Europe during the 18th century. By explaining what their philosophy is, the writers of the Declaration of Independence provide evidence of why separation from Great Britain is necessary. They believe that the protection of inalienable rights as well as the rights to equality, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were impossible to achieve under British rule.

It burns with topaz light. Identify the figure of speech
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

Metaphor

Explanation:

Alliteration has same starting consonants. Ex. "Shelly sold seashells down by the seashore." Notice the majority of the word start with S.

Personification is humanizing something. Ex.  "Lightning danced across the sky." Humans dance and here we are comparing the movement of lightning to the movement of dancing people.

Metaphors are comparisons of two things, non living.

"She has a heart of gold", its just a figure of speech because people cannot have hearts of gold, just like the the "it" cannot actually burn with topaz light because topaz does not actually have a light.
