A major conflict surrounding immigration/multiculturalism both in the US and in the world is the topic of refugees from the Middle East. The conflict comes from the opposing views toward these refugees: Opponents believe that these immigrants will only bring the issues of their country as well as unfair job competition, while supporters believe that their own country has an obligation to help these innocent people. While it's not possible for a complete resolution (there's no way both sides will be 100% pleased with the outcome), there are compromises that can be made (both politically and morally) in order to determine the most correct and least harmful solution for everyone involved.
