The term "government" itself is defined by the book as " the means by which a society organizes itself and allocates authority in order to accomplish collective goals and provide benefits that the society as a whole needs." The government not only runs the country, but it is also responsible for listening to its people, making laws for the people, providing various social programs for the people, and provide jobs for the people. Not only does the government seek our well being, such as providing education or health care, the government is also responsible for our safety. Securing borders and providing a well-trained military are some of the main things that the government does to keep its people safe.
