Explanation:

Life in the community is idyllic. meaning it was free from: Conflict,inequality,divorce,heartbreak,unemployment, injustice or choice. so it's in *my* opinion the elders did not succeed because you have no say in life..maybe for some parts like injustice and inequality ect- are good but without choices you are constantly being controlled.
