What does the speaker mean when he says "stone in the field" how is this statement true?
zysi [14]
It may mean stopping or something getting in your way as your ultimate goal for example: say you want to get an A on your test, however you lose your study guide. Losing your study guide would be a stone in the field

Answer:

Hyperbole

Explanation:

A hyperbole is an exaggerated statement not meant to be taken literally. Saying "Her eyes would glow with firelight fancies" doesn't mean her eyes were on fire.

WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST!!!
inn [45]

Answer:

" ...What’s worth keeping?

Not the sad boy who blamed you for all the ways he was broken.

Not the man’s name on the wing, but

why not the battered wing itself. Why not the woman thinking.

Why not the river below, its lips wet, footprints animal.

What forked tongues come when clouds crack open,

when this sky’s watched you sleep all day,

and now lets down its darkness. There’s all night to stay awake. "

This excerpt from the poem, "<u><em>New Wings"</em></u> really speaks to me. At first I wondered why, but then I realized that I was envisioning myself as if the poem was written about me. The poetic genius of Alice Miller really shines through in this amazing piece as her beautiful use of the lexicon is boasted upon us. It really makes me think and imagine every vivid detail that she puts out.

I love the verbal imagery, it's impeccable and exciting, and I hope that you'll agree as well.
