Explanation:

Martin Luther rejected the authority of the Catholic Church in society. During the Middle ages, the Catholic Church played a dominant role in society by holding all the powers of states and land. Luther criticized the injustices imposed on the peasants. The peasants belonged to the lowest feudal class, forced to toil in fields which belonged to their lords. They were the source of agriculture labor. Luther's idea of equal rights for all Christians encouraged the peasants to abolish the serfdom.

The German peasants revolted because Luther’s ideas about his criticisms of the Church especially Christian Freedom. The equal opportunity of all Christians encouraged peasants to request an end to serfdom. Peasants insulted and disrespected the Church authority by attacking and raiding the monasteries.
