Pathos is an appeal to emotions, so you can remove that answer from your options.
Ethos is an appeal to ethics, motivating an audience toward belief by way of the speaker’s trustworthiness and credibility. Therefore, ethos could be the answer as its credibility which would go against false information.
However, I would say B, Logos, as it is an appeal to logic. Logos makes the author seem knowledgeable.
