Explanation:

Folded Mountain

folded mountains are created at convergent plate boundaries. folded mountains are created through a process called orogeny ( where two or more of earth's tectonic plates are pushed together). the event takes millions of years. is the most common type of mountain in the world. examples are the Alps, the Andes, and the Himalayas.

Fault-block mountains

fault block mountains occur along side divergent boundaries where to plates pull apart. They are formed by the movement of large crustal blocks along faults formed when tensional forces pull apart the crust. examples are the Sierra Nevada. fault block mountains are rare.

(I hope this helps! the information is accurate because most of it came from National Geographic! The fault block mountains were harder to find information on.)

Based on what you have learned about the religion, economy, and physical geography of medieval europe, why do you think the musl
Alexxx [7]

Answer: the birth of Arabian civilization can be dated to 7th century A.D. Then Islam was spreading westwards to northern Africa...from  Egypt to Maroccos. From Maroccos Muslims spread to Iberian peninsula. But they were not able to move more northwards ....beyond Pyrenees. Christian states were stable, well-organized and were able to organize their armies and protect themselves.

Explanation: they were not able to move beyond Pyrenees because already in the north of Iberian peninsula there were well-organized Christian kingdom. They were small but they constituted a barrier. The only significan Arabian invasion to Europe consitutes "battle of Poitiers" (sometimes called "battle of Tours) in 732 A.D. There Franks led by Charles Martel were victorious and Arabians had to retreat behind Pyrenees. Later on Arabians were expulsed from Iberian peninsula (first from Portugal, then from Spain).

Why are sedimentary rocks only found on or close to Earth's surface?
tester [92]

Answer:

Erosion breaks existing rocks and turns them into sediments. The sediments can be formed into rocks by the chemical reactions of dissolved seashells ( Calcium Carbonate.) This reaction can form sediments into rocks very quickly like the formation of concrete ( same chemical reaction). Erosion only happens on the earth's surface.

As erosion only happens on the earth's surface, sedimentary rocks are only formed on the earth's surface.

In other words:

Sedimentary rocks only found on or close to Earth's surface because sedimentary rocks are made of materials deposited in layers at the Earth's surface.
