Yes, punctuality is nesscsary and essential

Example-showing up late for a job interview sets up a bad first impression. Even if you arrive 5 minutes late, the first thing your potential employer knows about you, is that you were late.  Your work ethic may be great, you may take on challenging tasks, you may communicate well with others and you may have graduated at the top 10% of you class-but you were late.
