ipn [44]

Explanation:

Both P and S-waves travels as body waves within the earth.

They are seismic waves. P-waves are longitudinal waves and as such can travel through any material medium. S-waves are transverse waves can only travel through solids.

 • If the earth is uniformly solid, at the seismograph station, both waves would be picked.
 • Based on travel time, p-waves will reach the station first before s-waves.

Farm & ranch families account for roughly how much of the US population?
slavikrds [6]
As of 2016, farm and ranch families made up only two percent of the total US population. The amount of farmer and ranching families has declined at a fast pace since it's peak in 1935. In the last twenty years most of the decline can be blamed on how little farmers and ranchers make from the food they grow or raise. Farmers and ranchers only receive, on average, sixteen cents for every dollar that is spent on food in both grocery stores, down from about thirty-one cents for every dollar in the 1980's.

A triangle has sides measuring 5 inches and 8 inches. If x represents the length in inches of the third side, which inequality g
Goryan [66]
Hey! So, in doing this, we need to follow the rule for the 3rd angle of a triangle that x has to be greater than 0. So, to solve this you need to do the equation x = perimeter-side-side. We only know the 2 sides, so plugging in the numbers, you get x = perimeter - 5 - 8. Doing this, if we set the perimeter to anything below 17, then x will be lower than 0. So, by setting the perimeter to 17, we get that x can equal 4. Now, if we set the perimeter to the highest it can be for x > 0 to be true, we get 12. So, putting that into an expression, we get x > or = to 4 and x < or = to 12. Thanks!
