Julgavam os chefes e capatazes políticos que apurar os votos dos seus concidadãos era anarquizar a instituição e provocar um trabalho infernal na apuração porquanto cada qual votava em um nome, visto que, em geral, os eleitores têm a tendência de votar em conhecidos ou amigos. Cada cabeça, cada sentença; e para obviar os inconvenientes de semelhante fato, os mesários de Bruzundanga lavravam as atas conforme entendiam e davam votações aos candidatos conforme queriam.
