The equation would be: 48 + 6x = 66

I got the 48 from —> 8 x 6 = $48

To solve the equation:
48 + 6x = 66
6x = 18
x = 3

So, he sold 3 tickets to his aunt.

The square below has an area of x^2+10x+25 square meters. What expression represents the length of one side of the square?
amm1812

Answer:

(x+5) m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

The area of a square shape, x^2+10x+25

We need to find the expression for the length of one side of the square.

The area of a square shaped object is given by :

s=x^2

x is side of the square

s=\sqrt{A} \\\\s^2=x^2+10x+25\\\\=x^2+5x+5x+25\\\\=x(x+5)+5(x+5)\\\\=(x+5)^2\\\\s=(x+5)

So, the sides of the square is (x+5) m.

If a person bikes 5 miles in 1.5 hours, how far can he bike in 13.5 hours
faltersainse [42]
Using proportions is the easiest way to solve these type of questions. Proceed as such:

                   <u>  5 miles  </u>  =     <u> 'x' miles </u>
                   1.5 hours        13.5 hours

                       'x' miles = (5 miles / 1.5 hours) * (13.5 hours)

                       'x' miles = 45 miles

Which statements correctly describe the association between the variables A and B?
gulaghasi [49]

Since it is not perfectly straight it’s not linear so

*nonlinear association

The line goes down not up so it’s

*negative association

If your teacher wants to count the point outside of the regular line it would be no association

The two that most fit this graph are nonlinear and negative association

Many times business will raise the prices of their goods
hjlf

The price that will maximize profit is $ 5.50.

Since an auditorium has seats for 1200 people, and for the past several days, the auditorium has been filled to capacity for each show, and tickets currently cost $ 5.00 and the owner wants to increase the ticket prices, and he estimates that for each $ 0.50 increase in price, 100 fewer people will attend, to determine which is the price that will maximize profit, the following calculation must be made:

  • 1200 x 5 = 6000
  • 1100 x 5.5 = 6050
  • 1000 x 6 = 6000

Therefore, the price that will maximize profit is $ 5.50.
