Being alone with a stranger in modern times must have felt like what cavemen felt when they first interacted with each other. Being in a room with two strangers can be frightening. This is because you have never met them before and do know what they are like. That factor of the unknown can be terrifying to some. This is because the fear of the unknown helped the cavemen to survive.
