What is X plus 8 equals 12
quester [9]
X = 4. As you need a number that when added to 8, will give you 12. And 4 is the only number able to do that. I don't know why you're asking this if you're in high school however.

The Sugar Sweet Company will choose from two companies to transport its sugar to market. The first company charges $3995 to rent
Tatiana [17]

Given :

The Sugar Sweet Company will choose from two companies to transport its sugar to market.

The first company charges $3995 to rent trucks plus an additional fee of $225.75 for each ton of sugar.

The second company charges $5500 to rent trucks plus an additional fee of $150.50 for each ton of sugar.

To Find :

How, many tons of sugar will cost same in both companies.

Solution :

For company 1 :

P1 = (225.75)x + 3995

For company 2 :

P2 = (150.50)x + 5500

For same cost :

P1 = P2

(225.75)x + 3995 = (150.50)x + 5500

x( 225.75 - 150.50 ) = ( 5500- 3995)

x( 75.25 ) = 1505

x = 20

Therefore, 20 tons of sugar will cost same.

Hence, this is the required solution.
