The wolf actually stole the lamb. Now, the lion is stealing the lamb from the wolf. When the lion reminds the wolf that he is being a hypocrite.

Explanation:

Look at it from this perspective: The strong prevail - they usually win. So in reality, the wolf overpowered the lamb and stole him from the farmer. Now, the stronger of the two (wolf, lion) explains that I am only doing what you did..... I stole just like you stole. Was it ever really yours to begin with - you stole it too.
