The countries and nations that partook in the league agreed to certain terms, which included a focus on reducing weapons as well as finding a set way to settle problems. The main reason that the League of Nations failed was that the United States didn't agree to be a part of it; America sided with the allies during WWI and provided a massive amount of support, but after the war was over, they retreated to their own land and reinforced their policy of isolationism.
