Hitler did a lot of nasty stuff to ramp up his military efforts in the late 1930's. Most prominently, he began building up the German military, which was alarming to a world that had grown leery of German military power in the wake of the First World War. But Hitler also invaded the Sudetenland, which is a part of what is now the Czech Republic. Hitler justified doing so by saying that there was a large number of German speakers in that region who deserved to be a part of a German state. Hitler also annexed Austria in an event called the Anschluss. This move was another attempt by Hitler to create a sprawling German-speaking state for the so-called Aryan race.

Which of the following was not a change in policy created by Gorbachev?
katen-ka-za [31]

"Communism" was not a change in policy created by Gorbachev.

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

A Russian, former Soviet politician, 8th, last leader of the Soviet Union, positioned the general secretary of its communist party from the period 1985 - 1991 popular known as "Mikhail S. Gorbachev".

Understanding the historical and more recent relevance of the world in 1986, Mikhail Gorbachev and his advisers embraced "glasnost" as a political slogan along with the elusive "perestroika".

Glasnost has been taken as factor for increased lack of secrecy and transparency in Soviet Union government entities and activities. Therefore communism was not a variation in policy established by M.S. Gorbachev.

what were the main geographical differences between the Roman Empire and Byzantine empire at their respective peaks?
algol [13]

Answer:

The main geographical differences between the Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire.

Explanation:

The Byzantine Empire was the continuation of the Roman Empire. It's sometimes called the Eastern Roman Empire. The Byzantine Empire ended due to conquest. The Roman Empire covered a larger geographical area before its division. The geographical region played an important role in Rome. Rome was built on seven hills and at the centre of the Italian peninsula. The Alps mountain helped to protect the Romans from invasion. Being located on the northern region, the Alps closed the land from the rest of Europe during winter. The Alps in winter, with snow and wind, protected Rome from outsides by forcing enemies to climb slowly through narrow paths, giving the Romans to react. In the South, the Sahara remained as the border. The Western had the Atlantic Ocean.

The Byzantine Empire became rich and flourished because of its location. Check the enemies advance from Persia and Danube. Its geographical location helped to establish in the coastal region with a trading chain with Asia and Europe.
