The way a poem is divided is part of its structure.
The structure is the way the lines are grouped according to a meaningful order. The poem is divided into the group of lines which are called stanzas. Each stanza ends with a pause which focuses on a thought or a particular feeling. It depends upon the poet, era and the revolutions which affect the pattern and form of the poem.
Diction is the choice of words taken by the poet while writing a poem.
Meter is the rhythm and structure in which a line of a poem is written.
A tone is used in a poem to mark an effect or to express certain feelings to the readers.
Dylan Thomas’ “Do not go gentle into that good night” follows an iambic pentameter. For that reason, each line of the poem (except the second one of the fifth stanza Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,) has ten syllables (five feet). Each foot follows the same pattern: one unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable and so on as in the example
Wild men | who caught | and sang | the sun | in flight
The stressed syllable is in bold.
It can convey 2 different sides. for instance, look at the photo that is uploaded. it shows that Hoover is a bad president, but on the other hand, it shows that FDR is a good one. Hoover didn't do a lot of things during the Great Depression, but Franklin Roosevelt helped solve a lot of problems. There's a positive and negative side.
