How did geography help the Seminole to resist removal
nlexa [21]

Geography helped the Seminole tribe to resist removal by waging a guerrilla warfare until the US gave in and let the Seminole survivors stay in Florida.  The Seminole became victims of coercion, deceit, and ultimately force through a calculated purge by Native Americans in the United States in the 19th Century. The U.S. Government decided to relocate Southeastern tribes west of the Mississippi River when several tribes were forced on severe and shameful marches to their new lands. The Seminole tribe moved to the Florida Everglades and resisted relocation through three great Seminole Wars by use of guerilla tactics to combat.

What was 'feudalism' and what were some of its strengths and weaknesses?
Aleksandr [31]

feudalism is a system that was used in the middle ages where kings would give land to knights and nobles to manage, and peasants and serfs would work the land in exchange for food, shelter, and safety. this system caused wealth and power to be based on land, not based on money or influence. it also caused the peasants and serfs to be tied to the land that they worked on, which caused them to be safe and provided for but it didn't give them freedom to move up in social class. feudalism also caused a temporary decrease in trade in europe because manors (the land that the nobles managed) were self-sufficient, so they had no need to trade anymore. however it kept peasants safe and fed, which made it a good system for the time, but was ultimately a negative system.

Why did additional states secede after the battle of fort sumter?
irga5000 [103]

Answer: "The second group of southern states seceded after the attack at Fort Sumter. Four additional states left at this time. These states left because they had concerns about what would happen to slavery now that the fighting had begun. They waited until the Civil War began before leaving the Union."
