I believe the answer is A because it doesn’t make sense lol.
and number b makes sense because if you distribute you’d get 2x+2
number c makes sense as well because no matter the value of x there will be addition in the equation
and number d also shows that the question is equivalent because any value of x makes them equivalent for example pretend x=5 2(5+1) —> 2(6) = 12
2(5) + 2—> 10+2= 12
Therefore the expression is equivalent
and the best answer to this question is A

Can someone please simplify 3 1/3 divided by 2 2/5 please
satela [25.4K]

Simplify the following:

(3 + 1/3)/(2 + 2/5)

Put 2 + 2/5 over the common denominator 5. 2 + 2/5 = (5×2)/5 + 2/5:

(3 + 1/3)/((5×2)/5 + 2/5)

5×2 = 10:

(3 + 1/3)/(10/5 + 2/5)

10/5 + 2/5 = (10 + 2)/5:

(3 + 1/3)/((10 + 2)/5)

10 + 2 = 12:

(3 + 1/3)/(12/5)

Put 3 + 1/3 over the common denominator 3. 3 + 1/3 = (3×3)/3 + 1/3:

((3×3)/3 + 1/3)/(12/5)

3×3 = 9:

(9/3 + 1/3)/(12/5)

9/3 + 1/3 = (9 + 1)/3:

((9 + 1)/3)/(12/5)

9 + 1 = 10:

(10/3)/(12/5)

Multiply the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator, (10/3)/(12/5) = 10/3×5/12:

(10×5)/(3×12)

The gcd of 10 and 12 is 2, so (10×5)/(3×12) = ((2×5) 5)/(3 (2×6)) = 2/2×(5×5)/(3×6) = (5×5)/(3×6):

(5×5)/(3×6)

3×6 = 18:

(5×5)/18

5×5 = 25:

Gavyn, Pip and Mark share £102 in a ratio 1:2:3. How much money does each person get?
rosijanka [135]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

sum the parts of the ratio , 1 + 2 + 3 = 6 parts

divide the amount by 6 to find the value of one part of the ratio

£102 ÷ 6 = £17 ← value of 1 part of the ratio , then

2 parts = 2 × £17 = £34

3 parts = 3 × £17 = £51

Gavyn gets £17

Pip gets £34

Mark gets £51

Please give an explanation on how you got this answerI'm not sure if it's too late or what, but I can't get it.
Alona [7]
Step 1: multiple the second equation by 2 so that you get -1/4 for the coefficient of y, the same as in equation 1
equation 2 multiply by 2: 1/4 x - 1/4 y=38  ..........name this equation 3
subtract equation 1 from equation 3: (1/4 x -1/2 x)=38-10
-1/4 x = 28
x=-112
plug in x=-112 in any of the equation, you will get y=-264
so the answer is A
