Hello
5 adults and 3 teenagers for one day paid them a total of $224 per hour
5A + 3T = 8 * 224
3 adults and 5 teenagers for one day paid them a total of $160 per hour
3A + 5T = 8 * 160
Adding both
=> 8A + 8T = 8 * 224 + 8 * 160
=> A + T = 384
2A - 2T = 8(64)
=> A - T = 256
2A = 640
=> A = 320
T = 64
The hourly rate paid day to each adult is $320

Mrac [35]

The Dowers need to make 5 pies for 15 people.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

1 person = 3 slices of pie

15 persons = 15*3 = 45 slices of pie

It is also given that;

9 slices of pie = 1 whole pie

1 slice of pie = \frac{1}{9}\ pie

45 slices of pie = \frac{1}{9}*45

45 slices of pie = 5 whole pies

The Dowers need to make 5 pies for 15 people.

The sum of two numbers is 23, and one half their product is 65. What are the numbers?
zysi [14]
It’s 13 and 10. Since half of the product is 65 when it’s doubled you have 130, so basically you just to trial and error to get two numbers that add to 23 but multiple to get 130
