Immigration for study is the most common reason for non-EU citizens moving to the UK and has gradually increased since 2016. ... The IPS estimates show that the increase in immigration has largely been driven by a rise in Asian citizens coming to the UK for formal study, at 149,000 in the year ending December 2019.

How do geographers explain the irregular course of the congo and niger rivers
tatiyna

The Congo and Niger rivers have interesting irregular courses, and instead of going just in a certain direction, they circle around big areas. This is due to the shape of the landscape, and also because of the types of rocks in the surrounding areas where these two rivers flow.

The shape of the landscape is crucial in the course of a river, since every river is moving through the lowest parts where there isn't obstacles, so these rivers have followed that pattern and it turned out to give them irregular course. Also, the types of rocks on their way are very important, so these rivers managed to get through the sediment rocks as they are easy to erode, but haven't been able to break through the igneous rocks that are much harder.

Which term is defined as the number of people per unit of area
zlopas [31]
For humans, population density is the number of people per unit of area, usually quoted per square kilometer or square mile (which may include or exclude, for example, areas of water or glaciers). Commonly this may be calculated for a county, city, country, another territory or the entire world.

Does Canada's overall population density give a clear picture of how Canada's population is distributed??
Murrr4er [49]

Canada's overall population density does not provide a clear picture about Canada's population.

Explanation:

Canada is one of the biggest countries in the world, second biggest to be more precise, but its population is pretty small for its territory. The population of this country is only slightly more than 37 million people, and when compared to the two countries closest to its size, China and the United States, having over 1.3 billion and over 320 million people, the differences is clear to see. Canada's population density is only 3.92 people on square km, making it one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world.

Those figures though doesn't give a clear picture about Canada's population. The southeastern part, southern part close to the U.S. border, and the southwestern part, all have medium to high population density, and the majority of the Canadians live in those parts of the country. On the other hand, the smaller percentage of the population lives in all of the rest of the country, and there are areas which don't have a single person living in them, and the small inhabited places are often several hundred km away from each other.

Other countries that have large territories, but small populations (for their size) which are not evenly distributed are:

  • Mongolia
  • Kazakhstan
  • Australia
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Russia
