In much of Indian art (like at temple) divine fertility and harmony are symbolized by what amorous couples. Hope this helped!
In the Lord of the Rings, to make Elijah Wood (Frodo) look smaller, they made him stand/sit in a way where he is farther away, but you can't tell he's farther away because it is an illusion.
