Answer:

- illustrate the idea of demanding what one is due.

Explanation:

Metaphors are primarily employed to compare a complex and unfamiliar object or idea with a familiar object in order to elaborate it and make it simple, easy to understand, and relatable for the readers.

In the given excerpt, King employs the metaphors like 'check,' as well as, 'promissory note' to demonstrate the idea of justice that is due to so many people. He uses these metaphors in order to give a simpler form to the serious problem of discrimination and segregation faced by a number of Americans that is solved through the 'promissory note' mentioned in the Constitution that promises due justice to the ones who suffered it. He wants every individual to get equal rights of life, freedom, and joy.

In 2-3 sentences thoroughly explain the protagonist's main motivation or goal in your Module One short story? What does the prot
Gnom [1K]

Answer: The answer is provided below

Explanation:

The main purpose of the protagonist is to express herself as an American, because she now resides in the United States of America. We realize that she is very glad to express herself properly as an American when she says: "when I was done, I read over my words, and my eyes filled. I finally sounded like myself in English!"

However, the protagonist also wants us to know how her family's past impacted their views, and the deep connection which she feels with her mother. This can be seen when the protagonists says that her mum tried to make her feel better when shhw fought with her father. Her mother was also very supportive: It can be seen when she said "Go away,” I wailed, but we both knew I was glad she was there, and I needed only a moment’s protest to save face before opening that door".
