Hitler used strong physical gestures throughout his speech, and his tone was forceful, with no trace of doubt or uncertainty. Throughout the speech, the intensity of his emotions seemed to grow as he spoke. The audience may have been invigorated by Hitler's passion and power.

Orwell’s use of an allegory to portray communism in Soviet Russia allows the reader to comprehend what happened in a simple way. It develops the themes power, deceit, dreams, foolishness, violence, and blind following by using animals in place of people. The pigs represent the leaders and the other farm animals represent the citizens of Russia at the time and how they dealt with the corrupt communist nation.

The theme of corruption is still relevant today because there is still corrupt governments around the world, for example, the North Korean dictatorship and communist China. The pigs began as equals who represented the people, and turned into cruel leaders and authority with no limit. Even in local governments, school systems, and work places it is necessary to spot corruption and unfairness. The theme of violence is relevant today in light of police brutality. Just like Boxer was set to be killed instead of retired, people today are murdered unfairly.

05.07 Stating Your Claim:
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

I plan to prove that college athletes should be paid to play. This matters because many people going into college play sports and they give up much of their time to do so. The athletes at a college are almost always the first students to arrive and the last to leave the campus. They arrive early to begin training and stay late because of big games. They should be paid because they give up a lot of their time to be at the practices. Some teams practice during class times which can mess up an athlete's academic schedule, others practice late at night when an athlete would want to be doing their homework or hanging out with friends. They should be paid because each win they have they give the college popularity and even perhaps money.

Counter claim: Athletes do not need to be paid because they got a scholarship to come which helps pay for their schooling already.

Choose the grammatically correct use of an absolute phrase from the following sentences.
andreyandreev [35.5K]
Since an absolute phrase modifies a noun, and is separated from the rest of the sentence using a comma usually, with no conjunctions, the only correct answer here is the first one. Because there is a comma, there is no conjunction like in the third sentence, so it has to be correct.
