Answer: The phase of the moon is relative to the earth and sun.

Explanation:

When the moon comes in between the earth and the sun then the surface of the moon does not face us so we cannot observe the moon. This condition is called new moon. When the earth is found in between the moon and sun then the light of the sun covers the surface of the moon the moon then completely observed from the earth this condition is called full moon. So the phase of the moon is dependent on the sun and the earth.

The classification of rocks into three major categories is based on
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

On their mode of formation

Explanation:

The classification of rocks into three major categories is strictly based on their mode of formation.

Rocks are naturally formed aggregates of minerals. Based on mode of formation, they can be classified into;

  • Igneous rocks: these rocks are formed by the cooling and solidification of molten magma.
  • Sedimentary rocks are formed by the compaction and lithification of sediment.
  • Metamorphic rocks: these are changed rocks that have been formed by subjecting rocks to pressure and temperature conditions which causes an alteration of their minerology.
