The League of nations had a treaty signed by members known as the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 that regulated their affairs.

The Organisation served other purposes like the prevention of war, settlement of disputes between states, etc. It believed that aggressive or forceful war was wrong and an offense against the whole human race. The League of Nations was created after the First World War to prevent the occurrence of further Wars but this purpose failed after the break out of World War II. It collapsed in 1946 and was replaced with the United Nations.
