Carbon dioxide from the air is used to produce glucose and other compounds.This happens during the Calvin-Benson cycle, or dark reaction because the reason is the Calvin cycle is also called as dark reaction or the Benson-Calvin cycle.

This cycle is the assemblage of biochemical reactions which undergoes in chloroplasts during the phenomena of photosynthesis. The cycle is light-independent because it undergoes subsequent the energy has been achieved from sunlight. In dark reaction carbon dioxide and hydrogen are combined to produce glucose and oxygen as a by-product.
