Answer:

1. cx  2. S  3. Cd  4.cx  5. cx  6. cx 7. Cd

Explanation:

Look for verbs, the main element in a predicate. If there is only one verb, the sentence is simple. #2 has only one verb: testifies. It is the only simple sentence.

When there are two or more verbs, check for conjunctions. And, but & or are the most common coordinating conjunctions which also may include yet, so, for & nor. These join independent clauses to form compound sentences.

Sentence #7 has two verbs: fell and propose, each in an independent clause joined by the conjunction yet. It is the only compound sentence in this set.

"So that"  joins two independent clauses in sentence #3 to create  a compound sentence, but that some may argue that it is a mistake because "that" also functions as a relative pronoun. (but not in that sentence)

Words like that, what, whom, who & which are relative pronouns which introduce noun clauses and relative clauses. These clauses must be connected to a main clause, and create a complex sentence. Such is the case in sentence #4. "Who" stands for 'Jesus' in the relative clause.

Subordinating Conjunctions: Though, Because, Although, Since, Whenever and a few others introduce subordinate clauses. Ironically, a perfectly good Independent Clause becomes dependent with the addition of one of those conjunctions, and must become part of a complex sentence. #1, #5 & #6 are examples.

Which figurative language device do you see in the stanza? (choose one) In the silence he has heard Talking bee and ladybird, An
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

The figurative language used in the stanza is: alliteration.

Explanation:

Alliteration is a literary device that repeats consonant sounds at the beginning of words that are close to each other in a structure. A simple example would be a well-known tongue twister: She sells seashells by the seashore (the /s/ sound is repeated).

In the stanza we are analyzing here, alliteration takes place when the author repeats the sound represented by the letter "h":

<em>In the silence </em><em>h</em><em>e </em><em>h</em><em>as </em><em>h</em><em>eard</em>

We have three words in a row beginning with the same consonant sound. Thus, we have an alliteration.

The stanza is an excerpt from the poem "The D.um.b Soldier," by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Answer:

In many areas of the Andes, farmers, communities, and the Inca state constructed agricultural terraces (andenes) to increase the amount of arable land. Homer's Odyssey is whatHomer's Odyssey is __. Group of answer choices A Science Fiction narrative A Comedy A Tragedy An Epic Poe
algol13

Homer's Odyssey is D)an epic poem.

The Odyssey is an epic poem in 24 books traditionally attributed to the historical Greek poet Homer. The poem is the story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, who wanders for 10 years (despite the fact that the movement of the poem covers only the final six weeks) trying to get home after the Trojan warfare.

In assessment, the Odyssey is a comedy of a person who believes in relationships and beliefs really worth residing for. I name it comedian due to the fact, just like the Bible and Shakespearean comedy, it ends in the recuperation of a state, the reuniting of the royal family, and the recovery of deeply held cultural values.
