Sí, Rusia entabló conversaciones con las potencias centrales con el fin de poner término a la guerra en el frente oriental, hecho que se materializó finalmente con la firma del Tratado de Brest-Litvosk en 1918.

Así fue como Rusia pudo salir de la Primera Guerra Mundial, con la firma de ese tratado. Al firmarlo, Rusia tuvo que ceder el control de los territorios que controlaba, Nos estamos refiriendo a lo que hoy es Polonia, Finlandia, Estonia, y Livonia(hoy Letonia).

Esta negociación la tuvo que hacer con los poderes centrales, el Imperio Otomano, el Imperio Germánico, y el Austrohúngaro.

Esta pérdida afectó económica y políticamente la presencia de Rusia en Europa del Este.
