Answer:

“cared . . . as if they were their own”

Explanation:

This shows that even though they didn't have any obligation to take care of them, they did out of the kindness of their hearts.

“They had no children” is only giving us some background on the characters

“who up to now had done little for his love” this shows that Zues is uncaring

“He came upon the great box and broke it open” this tells us what happens, not how they value kindness

Poem for the life of Gandhi??? Any helpers just be creative and true to his life that’s all
ASHA 777 [7]

Answer:

I have two

Explanation:

1.Oh! Great Leader Gandhiji

We all call you ‘Bapuji’

Oh! Father of our Nation

You made a Sensation

When you got us Independence

Without any violence

Oh! Great Leader Gandhiji

You practised law in South-Africa

And told the British to Quit India

And fought for India’s freedom

Without any weapons

Oh! Great Leader Gandhiji

You told the Indians to

Burn Pardeshi and buy Swadeshi

To make salt you went to Dandi

You made cloth with Khadi

We must thank God

For this devoted man

Whom I remember every time

In my short life span.

2.

It was vacation, and I had nothing to do;

I was at home and mummy daddy too;

My glance caught a sketch, of an old person;

He appeared to be the gentlest under the sun;

Strikingly, different was the expression in his Eyes;

Suddenly I felt guilty of all my lies;

His lips parted in a smile , so pure

He left me spellbound that's for sure

"Who is he dad?" was my question

"Come on, don't you know?" "was his reaction

He is the one who has set us free;

He is the one who has planted the tree;

He is the one, who was bold enough;

Firm and stubborn but never rough;

Truth and non-violence is what he taught

Same were the principles for which he fought

Preaching and practices for once were the same

His deed were worth name and fame

I have never seen a soul, so tall;

Oh dad; he appears to be the father of all

"You said it, child" said my dad

'Bapu' is the name he always had

I saw the sketch again and again,

His returning smile was my greatest gain,

October 2nd was the day my friends

That certainly changed my life's trends

How has illegal immigration impacted the U.S. economy? Also give an example if it has or has not.
Ludmilka [50]
Immigration in the U.S. has caused families who pay taxes( everybody) to pay for others who did not come in legally. Immigrants can come across the border illegally and apply for social security in which they get our U.S. tax money and get money for any immediate family they have. Hence, American citizens are paying for illegal immigrants who do not pay taxes.

In the online article, "Run Out on the Rails", the author states that whites ignored Chinese workers as long as: Question 4 opti
Nina [5.8K]

the Chinese workers were content/happy performing the jobs few white men wanted

Explanation:

 • As the author of the text says "As long as Chinese were content with jobs few white men wanted, then the whites ignored them. But as soon as Chinese landed better jobs or ventured into more attractive industries then trouble brewed, especially during hard economic times. Whites feared employers would use the Chinese to drive down wages and reduce whites to a status no higher than that of the Chinese workers themselves."
 • Otherwise, whites were sometimes actually doing some awful things to Chinese workers.

If You were a colonist , why would you have been upset about the quartering act
viktelen [127]

Answer:

American colonists resented and opposed the Quartering Act of 1765, not because it meant they had to house British soldiers in their homes, but because they were being taxed to pay for provisions and barracks for the army – a standing army that they thought was unnecessary during peacetime and an army that they feared .
