Answer:

Three Skeleton Key, the small rock on which the light stood, bore a bad reputation. It earned its name from the story of the three convicts who, escaping from Cayenne in a stolen dugout canoe, were wrecked on the rock during the night, managed to escape the sea, but eventually died of hunger and thirst.

valina [46]

I think it was when they started the point of telling stories of the witches and what they did with the people it just started to spook them out and they feared that maybe they were honestly true. And I think at that time it really wasn't the best time to stand out and/or say/do something out of their league because they would think you were a witch.

(And we all saw Sleepy Hollow sooo) :)

Answer:

As this thesis explores, Cinder's identity meanings change in order to accommodate her 'new' identities. At first Cinder believes she is an Earthen cyborg and that Lunars are essentially evil. Which scenarios are examples of verbal irony? Select two options. Your best friend is concerned that you are not feeling well. “
mr_godi [17]

Verbal irony is the use of words that express one thing with the intention of expressing the opposite.

In the options that were given, we can see examples of verbal irony in the following cases:

After finally finishing your paper for history, you drop it in a puddle of water. “Oh great! That is just what I need!” you exclaim.

and

Your mom comes into your room and sees clothes strewn on the floor. “I think you’re going to win an award for cleanliness,” she says.

In both cases, the person means the opposite of what they said. You don't really believe the paper falling in a puddle of water is something good, as well as your mother doesn't really think your room is clean.
