Answer:

thanks

Explanation:

Leaves are adapted for photosynthesis and gaseous exchange.

They are adapted for photosynthesis by having a large surface area, and contain openings, called stomata to allow carbon dioxide into the leaf and oxygen out. Although these design features are good for photosynthesis, they can result in the leaf losing a lot of water. The cells inside the leaf have water on their surface. Some of this water evaporates, and the water vapour can then escape from inside the leaf.

When water evaporates from the leaves, resulting in more water being drawn up from the roots, it is called transpiration.

To reduce water loss the leaf is coated in a waxy cuticle to stop the water vapour escaping through the epidermis. Leaves usually have fewer stomata on their top surface to reduce this water loss.

Leaves enable photosynthesis to occur. Photosynthesis is the process by which leaves absorb light and carbon dioxide to produce glucose (food) for plants to grow. Leaves are adapted to perform their function, eg they have a large surface area to absorb sunlight.

Plants have two different types of 'transport' tissue, xylem and phloem. These specialised tissues move substances in and around the plant.

Which situation is in equilibrium?
Orlov [11]

Answer:

The correct answer is: B. The amount of air in a room never changes.

Explanation:

  • A system is said to be in equilibrium when the net components in the system remains constant (no increase or decrease) with time.
  • The air in a room never remains constant and always undergoes dynamic movement into and out of the room. At equilibrium, the net air in the room remains constant as amount of air exiting the room is balanced by the amount of air entering it.
  • Evaporation of water in the form of water vapour from a cup into the atmosphere is not in a state of equilibrium as the amount of water evaporating from the cup is not replaced in the cup so there is a net decrease in water level in the cup.
  • The decrease in nitrogen percentage in a room is not in equilibrium as the nitrogen concentration of the room is not constant.
  • A blade of grass growing taller is not in equilibrium as a constant height of the grasses is not maintained.

How the heart and lungs function to allow cells to carry out their life processes.
yan [13]

Answer:The oxygen-rich blood from your lungs is carried to the left side of the heart through the pulmonary veins. The heart pumps the blood to the rest of the body, where oxygen in the red blood cells moves from blood vessels into your cells. Your cells use oxygen to make energy so your body can work.

A bee pollinates flowers social hierarchy social hierarchy territorial imperative territorial imperative competition competition
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

cooperation

Explanation:

Cooperation occurs when living things of different species work together to benefit themselves. The interaction between a bee and a flower is a symbiotic relationship. A symbiotic relationship between two living things is one in which at least one of the parties benefits. The relationship between the bee and the flower is a mutual one because both parties benefit.

While the pollen and nectar serve as food for the bees, the spread of the pollen to other plants assist in the reproduction process.
