Answer:

<u>D. a joke using words that sound alike but have different meanings. </u>

Explanation:

It could also be A, but D made the most sense.

Here is an example "What did the grape say when it got crushed? Nothing, it just let out a little wine."

as you can see, gramatically, the word should be "whine", but as this is a pun that is talking about grapes, using "wine" instead makes it funny.

When will you need to use abbreviations such as SFX? A. in the copy for billboards B. in the copy for magazine ads C. in the cop
QveST [7]

This abbreviation could stand for <em>sound effects</em> and so it could be needed in scripts for television ads (D).

In the copy for billboards (A) sound effects are irrelevant just like in the copy for magazine ads (B) or newspaper ads (C), because sound effects are not needed in these kinds of advertisement. So, as sound effects can only be used in one of these choices, television ads, the abbreviation SFX will be needed in scripts for TV ads. Also, similar abbreviations could only be used in the script of an advert and not in the copy that is the final text that will be shown to the public, so choices A, B, and C are wrong for this reason as well.

riadik2000 [5.3K]
The information that would be most helpful in determining the conflict between the speaker and his coy mistress is that Rubies were valued in Asia as amulets thought to preserve virginity.

This is helpful, because it hints at the later concept of the poem of the speaker desiring to have intercourse with his "coy" beloved, while the other statements are merely facts that are unrelated to the overall themes of the poem.
