The Olmecs originated their civilization in the thick jungle of Central America (Mexico). The Olmecs became the first to form pyramids in the region as the centre place for their God. They did not have much writing beyond some carved glyphs but were the first in the Mesoamerica to develop a writing system. They also invented the number zero which used in the Long Count calendar. In the present period, it became tourist sites because of its artifacts that have been found here. The Olmec best known for the statues they carved. These were stone heads about 20 ton.

The farmers did not live on there land and they farmed and spent minimal time harvesting crops . The farming practice of the suitcase farmers where widely blamed for the dust bowl!
