They have faulty filters with which they view the world. These faulty filters are often exasperated by group think. Most people never challenge their beliefs. They are the tiny dinghy in the big open sea, entirely at the influence of those around them. So instead of looking to others to find what’s true and right, look to first principles, and most importantly, think for yourself. Build yourself a moral compass and live your life with that compass guiding you, not the desires and lusts and greeds and fears and anxieties of others.
Emotions guide most people, not logic. That’s because they make decisions in the moment. They look around for guidance because they don’t really know. Don’t do this. Rather, build your compass when you are rational, logical, and non-reactive and then act with this in mind every day. Trust your compass above all else, because you chose it whilst in a logical state, and it will allow you to respond instead of react.
