5) The load forces are presented along the curve of the arch. Thus, the end of the bridge will be supported.

6) Abutments keep the arches of the bridge in their position. Therefore, they will not move. The structure of arch bridge is very powerful, firm, strong and rigid.

7) During the Roman Empire, this arch bridge was very popular. There were more than 1000 stone bridges which had been built in Northern Africa, Asia and Europe. Most arch bridges were made from wood and stone.

8) There are seven ancient arch bridges which stand until this present day. It makes us realize the beauty and creative design of the ancient people. If you check out the arch bridge of Roman people, they are made in semicircular arches.
