Which of the following must be balanced for a portion of the lithosphere to reach isostatic equilibrium?
Iteru [2.4K]

Answer: B

Explanation: The isostatic equilibrium occurs when enormous tectonic plates composed of crustal and upper mantle material are able to float on top of the astenosphere, which in turn is composed of denser rock material. In order for such a thing to be achieved the lithosphere and the astenosphere have to have balanced densities between each other. In other words, the density of the material on top, has to be in balance with the density of the material below it, thus to not have any uplift or sinking occurring between them.

Geography research based on South Africa's Significance of rejuvenation landscapes and expand on how they impact on economic
Marina CMI [18]
After a decade of sluggish development, South Africa's economy was already in a precarious position when the epidemic struck. The economy increased by 0.1 percent in 2019, thanks in part to the revival of load shedding caused by operational and financial challenges at the energy provider Eskom. South Africa's economic recovery in 2021 will benefit from a positive global environment (expansion of trade partners and commodities prices). However, pre-existing structural constraints, such as electricity shortages, remain binding in the medium run. In 2021, economic growth is predicted to return to 4.0 percent. Commodity prices continue to be crucial for South Africa, which is a large net producer of minerals and a net importer of oil; nevertheless, increasing investment, notably foreign direct investment, will be critical to driving growth and creating jobs.
