I would say the correct answer is <span>B. beautiful sound. As impressionist composers (although they didn't like to be called that), they aspired to embody ultimate beauty in their music. It didn't have to do with a perfect form (as it often wasn't perfect), and it had absolutely nothing to do with politics. Rhythms could be interesting, but they weren't the goal of this music.</span>
