Nick-  Well I suppose I've done a lot of different things in my life.

Tom-  How many countries have you visited?

Nick- Oh, I don't know exactly, but I visited all the continents including Antarctica.

I traveled there with a group of scientists a few years ago and we spent three months there.

Tom- And I understand you had a number of different jobs over the years?

Nick- Yes, I worked in a lot of places and I've done some strange things. I drove a London bus. I've been down a gold mine in South Africa, I performed in a circus.

Tom- A circus? What haven't you done? I've been a lion tamer's assistant!

I taught English in Russia and ten years ago I had my own travel agency. And last year I wrote my first novel.

The bold are Tom and Nick. The bold words are the ones used to fill in the blanks.

Brainliest please! :)

Why do the narrator and his family refer to his dad's childhood home as "the Middle of Nowhere'?
Alona [7]

Answer:

It is a remote place.

Explanation:

Although there is no precise reference to the text, <em>"the middle of nowhere" is a phrase representing a very remote and usually isolated place.</em> So, the narrator and his family must think that his dad's home is far away from them and possibly far away from civilization, hence they call it "the Middle of Nowhere".

Marizza181 [45]
#1) How are they similar to "the slaves of political parties"?

Answer: Slaves wanted to be trusted by their overseers because this often would grant them privileges that other slaves did not have.

#2) Why does Douglass make this comparison?

Answer: Slaves would seek with great care to please their overseers to gain their trust, just as office-seekers in the political parties seek to please and deceive the people.

I hope it helps, Regards.
