The Magna Carta was created because of the king and his government's harsh treating of citizens and everyone that was deemed to be beneath them. The king at the time abused his power, which influenced the Magna Carta to be a document to hinder and prevent the king and any other authority from abusing their power.

Without the Magna Carta, the United States would more than likely have a monarch who abused their power along with the monarch's government.
