Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In a parallelogram, opposite sides are equal

2x + 4 = 8    {Subtract 4 form both sides}

2x + 4 - 4 = 8 - 4

2x = 4  {divide both sides by 2}

2x/2 = 4/2

x = 2

3y = 9   {Divide both sides by 3}

3y/3 = 9/3

y = 3

Answer:

x = 2, y = 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

As it is a parallelogram opposite sides are equal so we have the equations:

3y = 9

y = 3.

2x + 4 = 8

2x = 4

x = 2.

Solve by using the quadratic formula 3x^2+5=-2x
rosijanka [135]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:   -1/3 + i* (1/3) * sqrt(14)  and  -1/3 - i* (1/3) * sqrt(14)

Discussion :

Recall the solutions of the quadratic equation  "ax^2 + bx + c = 0" are given by the formula

x = ( - b +/- sqrt (b^2 - 4ac) )  / 2a

Rewriting the given equation in this for gives

3x^2 + 2x + 5 = 0

so a = 3, b = 2, and c = 5.  Substituting the values in the formula gives

x =  (- 2 + sqrt ( 2^2 - 4*3*5)  ) / 2a         #1

and

x =  (- 2 - sqrt ( 2^2 - 4*3*5)  ) / 2a       #2

Simplifying, #1 = ( -2   + sqrt(4-60) )/ (2 * 3)  =

                           -2/(2*3)  +  (sqrt(-56)) / (2*3) =

                            -1/3  + i * (sqrt (56)) /6 =

                            -1/3 +  i * (sqrt(4 *14)) /6 =

                            -1/3  + i * (sqrt(4)/6) * sqrt(14)  =

                            -1/3 + i * (2/6) * sqrt(14) =

                            -1/3 + i* (1/3) * sqrt(14)

Similarly, the solution of # 2=   -1/3 - i* (1/3) * sqrt(14). The only difference between the two solutions is the minus sign boldfaced above.

URGENT, HELP ASAP
Ilya [14]

Answer:

The sales will surpass 37 million in about 2013.

Step-by-step explanation:

The answer can be found via solving an exponential inequality as follows:

f(x) = 20(1.05)^x\\20(1.05)^x> 37\\1.05^x> \frac{37}{20}\\x\log 1.05>\log\frac{37}{20}=\log 37 - \log 20\\x>(\log 37 - \log 20)/\log 1.05=12.6\\x>12.6 \,\,\mbox{years}

Any number of years larger than 12.6 will satisfy the inequality, i.e., after more than 12.6 years from year 2000, the annual sales will surpass 37 million. The answer to the exact question will then be: in about 2013 the sales will surpass 37 million.

Solve the solution. How many solutions does it have? 4(2x-3)=2(4x-6)
sdas [7]

Answer:

No solutions

Step-by-step explanation:

4(2x-3)=2(4x-6)

4(2x-3)=2 \times 2(2x-3) \\  \\ 4(2x-3)=4(2x-3)

Same components are present on both sides of equal sign, therefore NO SOLUTIONS are possible.

The sequence an = 8, 13, 18, 23, ... is the same as the sequence a1 = 8, an = an-1 + 5.
harkovskaia [24]
Actually, this answer would be true. Why?

 The first equation is: a(sub <em>n</em>) = 8, 13, 18, 23

The second is: a(sub 1)=8 ; a(sub <em>n</em>)= a(sub <em>n</em>-1)+5
if you wish to find the second term, plug two into the equation for <em /><em>n</em>
8+5=13
to find the third, plug the second term, 13, in for <em>n.</em>
13+5=18.

Hope this helped! I know it's a bit on the late side, but at least you can get the general idea!
