In order to match these up, you first need to understand the basics and the definitions of each term. You also will need to know how to solve for each term. These are the definitions and how to solve for them:

Mean: This is the average of all the numbers. In order to find this, you need to add up all the numbers and divide the answer by the amount of numbers you added together.

Ex. 3, 8, 9, 3, 5, 7, 7    Mean is: (3+8+9+3+5+7+7) ÷ 7 = 6

Median: This is the middle number. In order to find it, you need to put all the numbers in numerical, or number, order. You then find which number is in the middle, and that is your median.

Ex. 3, 8, 9, 3, 5, 7, 7   Median: 3, 3, 5, 7, 7, 8, 9 median is 7 because it is the number in the middle.

Range: This is the difference between the smallest and biggest numbers. To find it, you subtract the smallest and biggest numbers.

Ex. 3, 8, 9, 3, 5, 7, 7  Range: 9 - 3 = 6. Range is 6.

Interquartile Range (IQR): This is the difference between Q3 and Q1. In order to find this, you need to first order the numbers in numerical order and find the median.

Ex. 3, 8, 9, 3, 5, 7, 7    IQR: 3, 3, 5, 7, 7, 8, 9

7 is the median, so we are now going to find the median of all the numbers before the 7 and all the numbers after the 7.

3, 3, 5 median(Q1) = 3             7, 8, 9 median(Q3) = 8

Now, we are going to subtract the Q1 by the Q3. Since 8 - 3 = 5, the IQR is 5.

Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD): This is the average distance between the mean of two separate data sets. In order to find this, you need to find the mean of each data set, then find the difference between them.

Ex. Data set A:   2, 2, 4, 4                  Data set B:   1, 1, 6, 4

     Mean: 3                                       Mean: 3

We are now going to figure out how far from the mean each point is.

Data set A: | 2-3 | + | 2-3 | + | 4-3 | + | 4-3 | ÷ 4(amount of numbers in data) = 1

Data set B: | 1-3 | + | 1-3 | + | 6-3 | + | 4-3 | ÷ 4(amount of numbers in data) = 2

MAD of data set A = 1                   MAD of data set B = 2

Remember, in MAD, negative and positive don't matter. What matters is how far away from the mean each point is.

Now that you know what each of these terms are, you should be able to complete this worksheet. Please let me know if you need any more help or clarification. I hope this isn't too confusing. Good luck!
